Laura Dwight, PT, DPT, Women’s Health Specialist
Laura brings a passion for helping others, a strong skillset in movement training, and a holistic approach to her work as a physical therapist. She customizes care to the individual needs of her patients. Whether the goal is pain relief, improved athletic performance, or pelvic floor health, Laura strives to assist each person on their journey using a patient-centered approach.
Laura grew up in Minnesota. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Colorado – Boulder. She worked in the fitness industry for 10 years, teaching aerobics and personal training prior to earning her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University in 2012. She gained certification in STOTT Pilates and has continued her education in rehabilitation Pilates. As a trained orthopedic physical therapist, Laura integrates her Pilates experience into unraveling the complex biomechanics involved in her patients’ post-operative, sports-related injuries and chronic pain rehabilitation.
Laura pursued additional training in women’s health pelvic floor therapy and treats issues including incontinence, diastasis recti, pelvic pain and pelvic organ prolapse. As a mother of two young children, she is passionate about helping women through the complex physical demands of pregnancy, childbirth, parenthood, and aging.
Laura moved to Hood River in 2020 to be closer to family and to soak up the abundance of outdoor opportunities the Columbia Gorge has to offer. She enjoys an active lifestyle with her husband and kids and finds joy in hiking, biking, paddle boarding and traveling.
